After doing a clean install of High Sierra I discovered that there was no updated print driver for my Canon i9900 nor could I load the original driver included in the box as it is on a CD and I have no CD reader! What worked and saved me tons of research effort was this posted answer by 'Bon'. Thought I would update the information in case others who update to High Sierra discover this as well. I wasn't able to add to that earlier thread. See Answer 1 by 'bonsterg' . The instructions he suggested worked well. If you do a clean install as I did you only need to download and install this (much older) driver. Then add the printer to your list in System Preferences. Kudos to Bon!

Jun 06, 2019 Anyone know how to turn off CMM on a Mac? I know to select no color management from my printer driver (Canon i9900), but don't see any way to turn off CMM in Colorsync. I've calibrated my monitor and even when printing on Canon Photo Paper Pro with Canon Inks, using PP1 as my profile, there's still a slight shift to the yellows/greens. Jan 19, 2015 Dears, Canon provided me with a message that my Canon pixma MP810 cannot be used anymore with my freshly re-installed iMac running Yosemite. This is a little in contradiction with my experience since the day Yosemite was released and installed (= upgrade from earlier OS versions) on my iMac.

Here’s how to find a folder’s current permissions and change them: Open the Terminal application. Type ls –l, and then press Return. The symbolic permissions of the files and folders in your home directory are displayed, as shown below. Type chmod 755 foldername, and then press Return. This changes the permissions of the folder to rwxr-xr-x. May 12, 2020 Like many other Linux terminal commands, chmod dates back to Unix from the 1970s—Linux and macOS both share this heritage, which is why the chmod command is available in macOS today. To use chmod, open a terminal window. You can do this by pressing the Launchpad icon on the Dock and clicking the “Terminal” option in the “Other” folder. Macos chmod for folder mac.

Apple delivers third-pary software for scanners and printers via Software Update. Simply connect the printer or scanner to the Mac. If software is needed and available, OS X will automatically download and install it.
This article is a comprehensive list of currently supported printer and scanner models and associated software provided by third-party vendors as of 28 May 2014.
Important: Run Software Update before connecting to a printer or scanner. This will update the Mac's database on the latest supported printer and scanner models.
To view the complete list of printers and scanners that are supplied by Software Update, see below or use the browser's Find feature to look for a specific name or model number. If you cannot find a driver for the specific model, check the list to see if a driver is available for a series of printers that may include the model. For example, a printer with the model number 5070 might use the driver for the '5000' or '5000 Series.'
