Problem

So far I followed your detail instruction to intsall macOS high sierra into virtualbox of Windows 10. However, after to the stage installed on the disk “macOS High Sierra” followed the apple logo appeared for remaining installation, I never get the Welcome windows but instead loop back to “macOS Utilities” screen to ask for installing macOS. When you boot your Mac in verbose mode (cmd+V on startup), it hangs on the text “Waiting for DSMOS” and is booting a lot slower than usual.

Solution

An unexpected and pleasant surprise. For me, Mountain Lion OS X 10.8.2 (build 12C60) runs as a guest with VirtualBox 4.2.4 r81684 on a 12C60 host, MacBookPro5,2 with 8 GB memory. Each time the machine boots I get different errors and messages. Sometimes the machine just hangs at 'Waiting for DSMOS' and other times it makes it all the way to the end of the boot sequence and then dies.   1. Go to your Applications folder.
  2. Open the Utilities folder.
  3. Run Terminal.
  4. Copy and paste the following command into the Terminal window:
    sudo chown root:admin /
  5. Press Enter.
